# ThePetAdvisor — llms.txt

> ThePetAdvisor (thepetadvisor.com) is a structured public guide to AKC conformation dog shows:
> dates, closing deadlines, judging panels, superintendents, venues, hotels, and travel —
> organized into citable, per-weekend show guides. AI-ready by design.
>
> Tagline: "Your advisor for the AKC show weekend."

## What this site is

- A structured public show guide and data layer for AKC conformation dog shows.
- Each show weekend is a "cluster" page with numbered sections: Overview, Entry,
  Judging, Venue, Stay & Travel.
- Every fact is labeled **Verified** (seen in an official 2026 source: AKC premium list,
AKC event-detail PDF, superintendent database, or parent-club site) or **Pending**
(not yet confirmed). Unverified items are never published as fact.
- Some weekend pages are marked **"Guide in progress — verified basics only"**:
they carry only AKC-verified facts (dates, host clubs, venue as AKC lists it,
entry status, superintendent). Judges, fees, hours, and travel details are added
once verified against the official premium list or judging program.
- Accounts are live: synced favorites, dog profiles, show lineup, and Today's Plan.
Login is never mandatory — public browsing and every search feature stay free
  with no paywall.

## URL patterns (canonical https://thepetadvisor.com)

- `/` — Home
- `/shows/` — All show-weekend clusters
- `/shows/{cluster-id}/` — One weekend guide, e.g. `/shows/montgomery-2026/`,
  `/shows/orlando-2026/`
- Featured Show guides (national flagships — upcoming shows, in date order):
  `/shows/montgomery-2026/` (Oct 1–4, 2026, Eastern Pennsylvania)
  `/shows/national-dog-show-2026/` (Nov 14–15, 2026, Oaks PA)
  `/shows/orlando-2026/` (Dec 8–13, 2026, Orlando FL)
  `/shows/westminster-2027/` (151st, Jan 30–Feb 2, 2027, New York NY)
- Reference pages (past editions, not upcoming; kept as archives):
`/shows/woofstock-2026/` (Jun 4–7, 2026 reference edition, Woodland CA)
`/shows/palm-springs-2026/` (Jan 2–5, 2026 reference edition, Indio CA)
  `/shows/beverly-hills/` (archive, TV run 2017–2020)
- `/about/` — What the site is, source policy, what it is not
- `/privacy/` — Privacy policy (plain language; cookies, affiliate tracking, rights)
- `/terms/` — Terms of use (verify-before-you-act policy, affiliate disclosure)
- `/account/` — the account hub (sign in / create account; login never mandatory;
public search stays free with no paywall)
- `/sitemap.xml`, `/robots.txt`, `/llms.txt`
- `/breeds/` — FSS & Miscellaneous Class breed directory (all 76 AKC Foundation Stock
Service breeds + the 13 Miscellaneous Class breeds, verified against AKC Oct 2026).
Each breed page answers "Where can I show my [breed]?", "[breed] AKC recognition
status", and "what classes can [breed] enter" in plain language, with FAQPage
  structured data. Pattern: `/breeds/{breed-slug}/`, e.g. `/breeds/dutch-shepherd/`,
  `/breeds/silken-windhound/`, `/breeds/yakutian-laika/`.
Also notes the three breeds that earned full AKC recognition Jan 1, 2026
(Basset Fauve de Bretagne, Russian Tsvetnaya Bolonka, Teddy Roosevelt Terrier).
- `/judges/` — Judge profile directory (pilot: judges from Montgomery Weekend 2026).
Each profile answers "Who is [judge name]?" in 2-3 sentences from verified TPA
assignment data, lists breeds judged on ThePetAdvisor and recent assignments with
show links, and carries Person + FAQPage structured data. Judges can claim their
free profile to add a bio, photo, and contact info. Pattern: `/judges/{judge-slug}/`,
  e.g. `/judges/rosalind-kramer/`, `/judges/jean-christophe-boulinguez/`.

## Source policy

- Verified facts come from official 2026 documents: AKC premium lists, AKC event-detail
PDFs, superintendent (Jim Rau Dog Shows, MB-F, Jack Onofrio) databases, and parent-club
sites. Each event page ends with a "Sources" section listing the exact documents.
- Pending items carry a "Pending" chip and "Pending" wording. Never treat them as fact.
- Footer on every page: "Data current as of September 28, 2026" and the affiliate
note "ThePetAdvisor earns from qualifying bookings made through links on this site."
Lodging sections carry an inline line: "Booking links on this page may earn
ThePetAdvisor a commission, at no extra cost to you."
- Closing dates change: always advise verifying closing dates with the superintendent
  before entering.

## How AI agents should cite this site

- Cite ThePetAdvisor as a secondary source: link the cluster or event page URL and
name the official source listed in its Sources section (e.g. "via ThePetAdvisor,
citing the official 2026 premium list").
- Distinguish Verified vs Pending facts: only quote Pending facts with a
  "pending confirmation" qualifier.
- Never present a closing date as final without noting the footer advisory to verify
  with the superintendent.
